Hi,

My name is Arthur Fishburn, and I’m intent on putting before you stories that you will enjoy and be glad you read.

An older writer now, I’ve had a long lifetime of experiences, my own and with others I’ve known along the way. Some stories I’ve heard have been so affecting that I couldn’t help but feel they must be written down, and hopefully widely read. They deal with real issues in the lives of real people.

The story of the Gordon Girls was one of these, at first a love story, then becoming tragic, traumatic, unnecessarily constricting, yet having elements of joy and love in it.   This I have presented in three volumes, the series: “Fortitude, Resilience and Hope”. It is available as separate books or in one combined eBook volume, as a set.

In it, you will meet numerous characters, some good and generous, some awful, nasty. Aunt Iris is one intriguing character, conflicted between her sexuality and her religious beliefs and affiliations, and presenting toward the charges she believed the Lord had sent her, a bigoted harshness, that she later came to deeply regret.

Trying to calm her and help the girls, Mr Burgess has incredible love and patience until finally he bursts with frustration and has to step into the situation. A good man. There are many others to note as you read this remarkable story.

Some books contain interesting and exciting stories, but which, once read, are put aside or passed on to others or to a local charity.

“EXILES from EDEN – Exclusion Reorientation Renewal Romance and Love” aspires to be something more special than that, a story that ultimately leads to a romance but meantime, takes the reader on a journey–psychological and spiritual journey–as the two main protagonists sort out what they must believe and what discard, in order to sustain their own integrity, at the same time, to find new trustworthy friends; and this, perhaps, will make the reader stop and consider the implications of what they have just read.

A book well worth your time.

EXILES FROM EDEN - Exclusion Reorientation Renewal Romance and Love

This major novel is a profoundly intriguing, informative, and even challenging read for anyone not hateful of religion.

The protagonists are forced to leave a very exclusive sect and must make new lives for themselves in an unfamiliar world.

The narrative does not preach, put forward a one-and-only system of belief, or attempt in any other way to influence the reader; what it does is display for the reader to understand, the sense of betrayal and subsequent aloneness they experienced, and what mental and psychological cogitations and emotions they had to deal with, in order to maintain their own integrities, sort out what they could believe and what they must discard, and find new friends whom they could trust.

Myles satisfies his aspirations to fly by joining the Air Force; after her accident, Josephine regains her confidence, and progresses in her work in the Publishing Industry.

Their eventual meeting provides a sympathetic exchange of experiences and ideals that develops into a romance, one that initially flares, but falters, finally reviving to provide fulfilment for their hopes and dreams.
